I recently found some old stereo Kodachrome slides from my parents' wedding, back in 1957. Each frame of the stereo slide is about 2/3 the size of a full-frame 35mm slide. I know these won't hold any interest to any of you guys, but I though you might like to see them because of their age. I have a Realist viewer burried somewhere, but the last time I tried it out, it didn't work (another project).

I also have a Nimslo Quadra lens 3-D camera someone gave me last year, which I plan to run some Kodachrome though this coming year.

Anyway, here are the pictures, "Before My Time..."

My grandma, who was 65 at the time, helps my mom get ready for her wedding.

My grandpa, about to give his last and youngest daughter away to the man who would love her for the rest of his life.

My parents, posing for their "professional" pictures.

The dinner after the wedding at my grandparents' house. The pastor and his wife are on the left, and my mom is looking at the camera.

I would disagree with that, marke. These are wonderful! You simply MUST dig out that viewer. Seeing those slides in 3-D will make them that much more amazing. Not many people can travel back in time to their parents' wedding, but it'll feel that way looking at them through the viewer.

Everything I know about Realist viewer maintanence comes from here:

I've freshened up a dozen or so of those viewers for the stereo weddings I've shot, and it's not a major project. If you have any questions not covered in that link, please feel free to PM me.

And make sure that NIMSLO provides accurate exposures before loading it with precious Kodachrome. Unlike the Stereo Realist, the NIMSLO was designed with the latitude of negative film in mind, although I've heard of people shooting slides with it.

Thank you so much for sharing those great images! And thanks to Kodachrome for keeping those images looking so immediate!

Hi,

great to see these. Thanks. I love seeing 'everyday' slides from this era. I find them more curious and intriguing than most "Professional" images from the same era.

Nice stuff, great exposures...... would look nice in a stereo viewer.
