My unscientific observation of the Kodachrome sales on ebay, where a lot of it that is high priced remains unsold and is re- listed repeatedly, is that much of the film will never be shot.

Unless there is a big increase in consumption, it would seem that a lot of the sellers will be left with collectors items. Most of the Kodachrome shooters I know (myself included) already have the stocks to take them to the end in December. Are the members here planning to stock up? Or do you have what you can shoot?

I've definitely sufficient stock to take me through the rest of the year (to 30th Nov as the last date for those of us posting to Kodak Switzerland).
In fact, probably one or two reels more than I really need, but it won't be wasted as I have some technical close-up work which I can use it for.

At this point, I was supposed to have 50 rolls left, but then I scored an insane deal for 50 rolls of PKR expired in 2009 for 4$ each. PKR is much better then KR. 10 years expired Professional Kodachrome still doesn't show color shift as opposed to the amateur version... but I digress.

I am now back to 100 rolls and I am full. No plan on stocking more. The ebay sellers will have to do something if they don't want to be stuck.

I still have about 35 rolls of film. I have budgeted enough to get that processed and then I will be done shooting Kodachrome.:(

I still have hundreds of rolls left but I also think that if I need more, I will be able to refill on ebay for reasonable prices on the late batch stuff.

I see no difference in fresh KR to PKR by the way, it looks pretty much the same.

Sent 78 rolls from Paris off to Dwayne's just now, woo-hoo!

I was in reasonably good shape when things blew up in that I'd just bought a bunch of the 05/2007 kr and a bunch of frozen 1993 km that looks fine, as well as some rolls of newer stuff from BH and dan's KL sale; so I had about 80 rolls as this year started.

But have been camping & traveling around the upper peninsula of michigan last 3 weeks and have shot quite a lot of it... my van's dashboard has about 50 or 60 empty film boxes on it (started throwing them there after a week or so of travel and decided it looked cool - and had comments of same).

So by the tine I get back to alaska in a week I might only have 5 or 8 rolls left - but I've already shot a lot of kchrome there, so I'll have a few last rolls for the summer (maybe will save for fall - good for alaska fall colours), then get on with using other stuff after shooting 75% kodachrome for the last 4 or 5 years since I saw its demise. I probably shoot 150-250 rolls/year total.

If I did get the chance to get some more cheaply I would, but not going to pay $25 a roll for km anymore or kr or kl either - the era's ending so i'll let it go. I did buy a last 24 exp. kr expiry 2004 a couple weeks back at a country hardware store, though, since i couldn't resist the 'final' purchase. It was marked down to $5 from $6.99, not a super deal, but worth the thrill and wd. have surely 'died' had I not come along.

Anyway, at least I won't have to worry about not getting the last of it shot. And maybe this'll kick me into shooting more 6x7 and even finally getting a 4x5.

Did you see the 60 rolls of 2001 KL that didn't sell on *bay two days ago? $1 a roll, and didn't sell.
