It would be nice to know what other Kodachrome Project members are doing now.
My recent theme was trying to get some images of my local church in the spring with cherry blossom included in the frames.

Half my Kodachrome stock (of ten rolls) was shot at the 2010 Canadian G.P. the other half will grab the light at the 2010 Hungarian G.P. near Budapest (a roll will be of Budapest itself).

Chris, good question. Besides some of fresh kodachrome I also have about 30 rolls of old K64 and K200. I don't plan to sell it. Not worth much anyway. I was thinking about some kind of worthy project for them. I decided to document present cars we all are driving currently. No big deal some say but I always have blast to watch street shots of the years past. Most of my attention is definitely on cars of that day. My imagination is running wild when I think about grand grandpa Wally (me) showing kids old slightly faded Kodachrome slides from beginning of 21 century. And all the old cars circa 2010. Saturns, Pontiacs, Olds and Chevys. Who knows what will happen in these 40 years. Current drive trains may be absolite as we know them. But for sure they will be different.
Film I'm planing to use is already old. Results will be less then perfect but in 40 years of time will it matter a lot?

Eye-contact being reduced to i-contact. I am actually working with a writer on this topic in that in the past few years, I see less faces, less direct eye contact and more people looking down at devices. Two suits collided in Manhattan and nearly got into a fist fight while texting.
I believe there are soulful nutrients in human eye contact, it concerns me a bit that we are losing that to varying degrees depending on geo-political or eco-societal peoples.

Planning to visit Hamburg and Duisburg, Germany, later this week. Hamburg for art (Kunsthalle), u-bahn and urban views, then later Duisburg for Love Parade 2010. 5 days or so. Kodachrome only, I guess.

Just shot Kodachrome 25 for my first time ever yesterday. Photographed a university library where I used to hang out and took some courses. Used a 15mm lens.

I think this is a great idea for a project wgiers. I have been looking at some old books featuring Nottingham in the 1960's. The cars depicted certainly bring back memories to me. Talking of old vehicles I made sure that at least one roll of KR64 was devoted to snapping images from a local steam rally.
In answering your question - no I don't think it would matter.

Hi ZoneV this is a tremendous combination. I always wanted the Zuiko 16mm fish eye for my OM1 and KR64.
I bet you can't wait to see these slides!

Sitting here on the couch this morning the idea came to me of putting together a photo book of the my favorite kodachrome slides to give to my 7 year old daughter.

This will be a very nice thing to do Brad. Plus we can rest assured that the colours will still be fresh in 50+ years time.

Many may not consider it a project.
But for me, my next three rolls of KR will assist me in better learning how to use my incident light meter. Whenever I depended on consistent results to learn something new, or evaluate a technique, I always turned to Kodachrome, bracketing, and a tripod.
So for me, the "project" is to again use Kodachrome to help me better my eye. In particular, with the incident light meter, learning to see in the mid 3 stops of a 5 stop dynamic range.
I've always turned to Kodachrome to learn. Why not now?
Long time, no post. Met the Love of my life and have been posting less but travelling more and shooting at a sustainable rate, given my supplies.

Here she is with my Leica MP 0.85 and 35 Summicron Asph. (Yes, that's a curious combination.)

Sounds like a damn good excuse to me.
Indeed it is, Brian. No better excuse in the world.
And how could I have neglected to mention that the photo of her was shot on Kodachrome 25?

I just returned yesterday from a trip to the Philippines, for visiting some relatives.
I shot half of the trip with Kodachrome; I didn't shoot as much as I thought. I shot typical travel topics: Beaches, temples, monuments, etc. But the most important was family. Specially my grandpa there. He's been "Kodaked" a lot.
The noun of picture or photo is not used; they just use "Kodak".
I specially enjoy to make environmental portraits.
I enjoyed a lot more human contact, aside with the family, also on the streets. When it comes to eye contact, I saw much less people using electronic devices one the street; although it is growing and emerging. People on developing countries take us as an example.
Before returning, I felt that I would lose a lot of human contact. There I spent time talking (specially the evenings and night), here I use the PC instead.
A teacher of mine said: "Remember some of your best moments in your life, I'm sure all of them were in contact with other people; Not with a machine. These lack something, being human."
Well, it's right. I suppose, even if the society turns towards i-Contact and virtual things; Human contact will be still be appreciated. Because if we lose it completely, we wouldn't be humans.
Back to the Kodachrome topic, I still have 2/3rds of my last roll left. I'll spend it on what's left of summer. Family and important locations, that is it.

I was pleased with the results from my Stratford on Avon shoot in the summer.
Must use up the rolls I have left and I am hoping to go to Nottingham sometime this coming week end.

I didn't get to go into Nottingham but on Sunday the weather was just right to use KR64!
Exposed a couple of films on the village church. Used my OM2n with a Zuiko 21mm f3.5 with a Hoya Polarising filter and my OM4Ti with a Zuiko 28mm f2.8.
Now I have taken photos of the local church in all seasons. So I am pleased with this project.
In the local library they had a display of old prints depicting the village in the past. Who knows perhaps one day these KR64 slides will be there in the future.
Cheers Chris

My latest project was today at Nantwich. I had a happy couple of hours taking snaps of this English town.
Some of the shots were inspired by Eugene Atget - from his shop windows theme. With how long Kodachrome's last they may be of use in 100 years time to look at what was for sale in 2010.
Yeah never know!
Cheers Chris :)
