I have no idea what they actually did in terms of film received after the 31st, but I do know that they still have about 2,000 rolls left to mount before it is all said and done.

My last film was posted from UK to Lausanne on Monday, Dec. 20th, and the slides received back this morning, 26th Jan.
Given that 20th was way past the final Royal Mail Christmas posting date for Europe, the bad weather here and airport problems here and Switzerland, and the fact that Royal Mail basically shut down from 24th-30th Dec., I was amazed that it made it! It must have just squeezed into the last Lausanne courier box to Dwaynes. :)
The slides were stamped DEC 10.

I was thinking mainly direct to Dwaynes, as I'm curious about dispatch notices, communcation etc, but you bring up a good point Richard. There are people still wondering about slides sent to Lausanne.
I gave a roll of K64 and mailer to my friend Ned in November, he got it posted in the second week of December, and is really pessimistic! He's convinced it will never arrive, and was so upset when he came back to his house after New Years and didn't have anything in the post from Kodak. But I told him to remain optimistic! So I will let you know if Ned gets anything back.

Got an email yesterday with a despatch notification, I guess thats my unprocessed films being returned back to me (as according to them my lack of Paypal invoice meant they wouldn't be processed). Not that they'll be any use to me now....

Apologies if I'm confusing you with someone else, but did you say that the UK Post Office had assured you that the films would get to Dwaynes in time?
If I'm correct in thinking that, they certainly advised you badly as their Special Delivery guarantee was definitely suspended for some weeks before and during the Christmas break...it's a service which I use from time to time for business papers.
I remember that they were also warning then (and still are) of potential delays of up to a week through US Customs security examination of incoming mail.

If you don't get your film processed and it's returned put it back in the freezer. Someone will come up with a way to process the film. I'm tempted to take it up as a technical challenge (yes, I'm aware of the dye-coupler problem). I'm sure others will work on this as well!

technos, you may want to check out the thread entitled "K-lab Kodachrome
Processing after Dec. 30, 2010," for more info on the current status of K14.

Could you confirm this? I was told that Dwayne´s are now only processing Kodachrome movie film, and they end with Kodachrome slides one week ago. I cross my fingers because my last 5 super 8 cartridges are there. Crystal wrote me few days ago that they will send me my films in two weeks.

Who told you that? The only films I sent them that I actually cared about were Super 8 films, and they told me earlier this month my film wouldn't be processed as I hadn't received a paypal invoice.

My last 5 rolls arrived in the post from Dwayne's today! 2 rolls of the last batch of KM, 1 roll of early 1990s PKL, 1 roll of KR, and what may have been the last cartridge of KR 110 (16mm still film) ever processed (expired in 1987!!!).
This is spite of the gross ineptitude of Canada Post who could not deliver on their overnight service when sent on 27Dec. My films arrived on 3Jan, and were all processed in January.
All look great and are a fitting end to my 5 years of using Kodachrome. Kudos to Dwayne's for getting everyone's film processed.
I hope everyone on the board keeps the spirit of Kodachrome alive far into the future. I for one look forward to the day that future enthusiasts find a way to bring Kodachrome back to the masses.

It probably wasn't Canada Post's fault. Nasty weather throughout the US unofficially extended the deadline to Jan. 3. Your film was probably developed the last day, 1-18. Canada Post might've figured heavily in how long it took to get back, though. It's been a couple of weeks since I last heard that someone in the US got some back.
I'd bet a crisp $5 of either country's money that your 110 was not only the last, but probably the first for quite a long time, too.

If I were you, I'd rethink that bet. I sent in a roll of 110 KR that got delivered on the 29th, and got back to me Jan. 18. Of course, I think katarchaea wins for the last roll, but I'll bet that they got all sorts of bizarre formats the last few weeks of processing.

What's the date on the newest rolls of KR 110? His would, by my guess, be among the last. It's amazing that rolls of that would still be showing up with any regularity.
Not sure when it was discontinued, but I watched a roll of 12 exp. 110 Verichrome Pan on eBay last year. I think it sold for over $20. That blew me away...

My guess would be the late 80s. The latest I've seen (but not owned) was dated 12/87. I know they kept 126 going on for longer, as the newest roll of 126 Kodachrome I shot was dated 10/94.

In my case it was Canada Post's fault that my film arrived late. I bought their Fedex Overnight service, but it took Canada Post 3 days just to get the package to FedEx, and that is in the same city. They did finally refund my $62, which only took 7 weeks to arrive in the mail. Only slightly shorter than the wait for my slides to reach me from Dwayne's. And Dwayne's had good reason!
Regarding my KR 110 film, this was the last roll of 14 I bought from eBay a couple of years back with the last roll expiring 7/1987. Dwayne's developed all the others I sent since 2008, and it sounds like there are a few other pack rats who had some cartridges left. I bought some 110 custom slide mounts in 2008 as well from Gepe since Dwaynes no longer could mount these. They no longer appear to be available either.
I have to admit that 110 slides are something of a novelty. Projecting them produces a small, dim image on my Zeiss Ikon projector, and they scan fairly poorly. That said, I have managed to optically digitize some of my favourites using a slide duplicator and DSLR camera. Resolution-wise they are better than most point and shoot digicams of a few years ago (5ish MP), and most importantly, they are Kodachromes!!!!

I got the information from dwayne's that my films arrived on 17th January. They came back recently. Thanks dwayne's for covering up the post scandal. I had post them at 11th December. Post office later said they sent it on boat! 18th was the last run. So it was miraculous for 7 K40 Super8 and 17 mostly PKR64.
But a lot of my rolls have famous blue scratches on emulsion side.
Did anybody else had such problem?
