Default Ilfochrome.
Has anyone ever had Kodachromes printed on Ilfochrome? I am intreuged by it but the price is holding me back. The best price I could find for an 8x10 was $50.00! If I had a darkroom I would to it myself because I could by it for about $5 per 8x10 sheet from B&H. I have read that the prints from this are amazing. Patrick

That's all I ever do with my Kodachrome, as I have been making cibachrome prints since 1982. My underwater stuff looks great on ciba, but when I left Rochester, NY and the photo labs I had been working for, I stopped printing other peoples images.

Actually that's really not a bad price for an 8x10 as that was my price almost 20 yrs. ago. My bigger problem is finding supplies here in the middle of NC and not having to pay a fortune for shipping. I guess I may have to start scanning the Kodachrome and print a different way, as cibachrome/ilfochrome is heading to the same grave as Kodachome.

I just found this lab, Visual Imaging, http://www.visual-imaging.com/default.htm, that prints Ilfochrome at great prices. I just emailed them to make sure the prices on their site are up to date and they are still in buissness. I am soooo excited!!!!

We were just discussing Duratrans, and now here's another option. Cibachrome Classic Display for backlit applications. Cool.

Did you send in mounted or unmounted? Will they have to take them out of the mounts for this process? I am going to try this too.

Its something ive looked into a bit, and from what I gather while the paper is really cheap, the chemicals cost a fortune making it really hard to get a low cost Cibachrome/Ilfochrome printing setup. Its something I'd do if I was selling art prints of my work full time, for sure, but as a student I cant afford it.

Good prices I think.

That said, Peak Imaging do good work and I have used them for metallic paper prints and been very happy indeed with them.

That said, Ciba/Ilfochrome prints are special.
