Whats a good compact camera to shoot Ektachrome????

I found a Nikon Zoom 310 QD AF in a thrift store bin for two bucks some time ago. It's turned out to be a pretty good walk around mini point and shoot. It doesn't have much in way of manual exposure intervention, but it can handle DX for 100 through 1000 ASA. You can force it to manually set to 50ASA and 1600ASA and the auto exposure seems pretty intelligent.

Couldn't resist adding in about the XA. I've used a lot of 35mm minis, starting with Lomo LK-A in the early 1990s (long before the 'lomography' sham was invented, went through at least a half a dozen bought in soviet camera stores and flea markets; 'lomat' is the russian word for 'to break', it's a sort of pun here), Cosina CX-2 (after which the lk-a was copied), kiev 35a, minox 35, etc.

All of them had short lifespans, except my XAs (I've got a few). There are some differences between the different models, this website:

will tell more - all of it. I like the regular 'xa' - has a 1.5 stop overexposure comp., good lens, timer, etc.

I like the little add-on flashes, too - there's a 1 aa type and the larger 2 aa type!

The last one of these I bought at a yard sale last summer of $2.50.

I remember reading somewhere - maybe in the advertising - that 'the XA is the camera that photographers take on vacation'.

I've had good luch with these using kodachrome, ektachrome, b/w, c-41. Excellent camera. Probably overpriced and dubious specimens on ebay.
