Default Kodachrome Box History

I threw together a web page with some of the various styles of Kodachrome boxes. This listing is intended to illustrate the many changes the Kodachrome boxes went through from 1935 through 2009 when the last emulsion was packaged. This listing is certainly not comprehensive, and there are many styles that I am aware of that are not illustrated here (I actually do not even have all of the boxes I have on the list yet) and probably many I am not aware of. Corrections and additions are always welcome.

I probably need to organize this differently, but for now here it is:

Excellent work...very interesting.

I notice that your films are all Made in USA, and that made me wonder in what countries Kodachrome was manufactured (i.e. the whole coating, etc., rather than just marketed)?

For many years all Kodachrome (and other Kodak films, colour reversal, neg, and B&W) sold in the UK were Made in England...the only exceptions seemed to be a few specialist emulsions.

On occasions (and before the present universal "Made in USA, finished and packed in Mexico.), I've seen Kodachrome (and others) "Made in France".
I also have a feeling that I've seen "Made in Canada" and "Made in Germany", but wouldn't swear to that...there wasn't any particular interest in reading the small print or keeping the boxes at that time!

Ah, that's very nice. I love film boxes. Nice collection, not complete, but very well ilustrated. Nowadays I like to keep the boxes.
I don't really like the last Kodak select design, the one that kept until the last batch in the EU. It would have been nice to do a "reedition" of the vintage designs for the last batch.

As far I know, Kodak had plants in UK and France; I hear that the Forte plant was Kodak too, before the war. My father shot a lone roll of Plus-X in the 70s that I could identify as France manufactured (Safe·ty according to this site: http://www.historicphotoarchive.com/f1/ekcode.html). Don't know anything else, I'm younger than 2/3rds of those boxes, I couldn't have seen anyways.

I could give you a few images of a last batch EU box if you wanted, although It would be hard to do a similar setup for it, no lighting aside of window.

That would be great, even if the setup is different. At least I would have a placeholder for that box.

I don't have anything else you have not listed other than this. Feel free to use these. I won't be leaving them on there too long so, please just save them if you wish.
Nice list you have made!
